Dr. Nancy Cano, PT, DPT is a licensed physical therapist with 20+ years of experience in physical therapy and has been in private practice since 2006. She received her bachelor’s in physical therapy from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas in 1999 and Doctorate in physical therapy from Texas Woman’s University-Dallas in 2016. Continuing her education, Dr. Cano has earned post-professional certificates from TWU in Orthopedic Manual Therapy and Women’s Health. She has also studied OMT (Osteopathic Manual Therapy) under Dr. Ed Stiles, D.O. F.A.A.C. and Micha Sale, P.T. who are well known for their techniques in functional restoration.

Dr. Cano’s specialty has been treating orthopedic chronic pain conditions, such as chronic back and neck pain, hip pain, and shoulder pain. While treating both men and women, a larger percentage of her patients are female, and she has found that women can have some specialized pregnancy and postmenopausal concerns. The desire to learn more about women’s health issues took her on her journey to pursuing her Women’s Health Certificate with TWU. She believes this is an area that is under-served in the medical community and has a passion to serve the special needs of these women.

Dr. Cano is a native Texan and has lived in Rockwall with her husband since 1999. She has three grown children and a growing number of grandchildren. Faith in Jesus Christ is important to her and she is an active member of Cross Point Community Church. Dr. Cano has gone on several mission trips in Mexico, Nigeria, and Haiti. When not working she enjoys spending time with her family, and refinishing furniture.
