Cancer Rehab Physical Therapy
Survivorship can be so much more than surviving. Survivors of cancer do not have to live with limitations of pain, neuropathy, stiffness, swelling and fatigue.
Treatments
PAIN. Manual therapy techniques and patient-specific exercises can help alleviate general joint pain and postoperative pain.
NEUROPATHY. Manual therapy and sensory integrative techniques can help decrease hand and/or feet tingling sensations.
TIGHTNESS. Manual therapy techniques and patient-specific stretches can help improve reaching mobility limited by scar tissue or radiated tissue.
SWELLING. Manual therapy techniques, educational support, and help managing the progression of swelling and/or lymphedema.
FATIGUE. Patient-specific exercises and program guidance can help safely increase endurance for better tolerance of usual activities.
Physical therapy for cancer survivors involves a holistic approach. Here at N-Balance Physical Therapy, we assist with managing the side effects of cancer treatments and returning you to a life you want to live. Through manual based techniques complemented by individualized movements and exercise, we can help you regain your full potential even after receiving a diagnosis of cancer. It is your quality of life that matters after survivorship.
Cancer comes with different treatment options including chemotherapies, radiation therapy, and/or surgeries. Some of the side effects that can present with these procedures include increased joint pain, peripheral neuropathy, tightness with scar tissue, and fatigue. This can create difficulty in caring for yourself, navigating your environment safely, reaching or walking efficiently, and returning to activities such as work, play, or family enjoyment.
Physical therapy can assist you in regaining your mobility, balance, and energy. Our physical therapists have received specialized training to provide a full assessment of functional deficits, recognize appropriate limitations in regard to treatment, and safely apply techniques to return individuals to a healthy, active lifestyle. Simply start the conversation with your doctor if you are not living the life you had previous to diagnosis or come in for a one-on-one assessment to find your potential.
